IT Power is a leading international energy consultancy with over 20 years’ experience in renewable energy and sustainable development projects. The company’s activities include economic and financial analysis, resource assessments, technical design, turnkey renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, dissemination activities, market research studies, project management, training, technology transfer and the organisation of workshops and seminars.  IT Power has undertaken groundbreaking studies on the deployment of renewable energy technologies, and managed many projects in the UK and world-wide.

IT Power has in-house technical expertise covering the full range of renewable energy technologies including: photovoltaics, large and small scale wind, solar thermal, wave and tidal power, mini/micro hydro, biomass and cogeneration. The company has a multi lingual team of experienced professional staff. The UK offices in Chineham and Bristol have 25 permanent members of staff, including engineers, energy specialists, rural development experts and economists who offer a broad pool of experience covering all major renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies and all aspects of the project cycle from conception through to project evaluation.

Installation of wind turbines on 2 council buildings : IT Power is managing the installation of four 6 kW wind turbines on the roofs of two council buildings. Design work is underway with the installations expected to take place in 2005.

EC project - Plymouth College of Higher Education (PCFE), UK


Bringing Retro-fit Innovation to Application in Public Buildings : This EC funded research and development project is looking at innovative ways of improving energy efficiency and incorporating renewables into public buildings. IT Power is managing the installation of two 6 kW wind turbines on the roof of one of the main buildings.

Tideway School, Northern region, UK


Tideway Community School Wind Feasibility Study : Assessment of the feasibility of a small wind turbine installation, including initial site inspection (site layout, positioning of wind station and identification of safety issues), wind resource estimation, scheme design, performance projection of annual electricity generation, estimation of costs and economic analysis of the scheme over a 10 year period.

Renewable Energy Feasibility Study for West Wight Sports Centre : Assessment of the technical and financial viability of small-scale wind, solar water heating and solar PV for the sports centre

Bagworth Community Centre, Leicestershire, UK


Alternative Energy Feasibility Study for Bagworth Community Centre : Biomass, small-scale wind, solar photovoltaics, solar water heating and ground source heat pumps were all considered in a feasibility study to provide energy from renewable sources for a new community centre.

Building Research Establishment, UK


Wind Installations Inspections : Inspection of wind turbines installed within the Clear Skies funding programme. Development of criteria under which installations will be assessed, including items relating to safety such as the appropriate location of a wind turbine, its electrical connection and correct installation.

Viewpoints on Energy in the East Midlands : Assessment of current policy issues affecting the region; development of a regional energy supply and demand profile; estimation and mapping of the potential renewable resource; assessment of existing sustainable energy schemes and initiatives in the region and estimation of carbon emissions in the region. Production of a draft Sustainable Energy Strategy for the region and input to the Review of the Regional Planning Guidance.
